Deaver Traywick completed an M.F.A. in fiction at the University of South Carolina in the spring of 2002. He is currently the Director of the USC Writing Center and a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of English at USC. He was a co-winner of the 2002 James Dickey Award for fiction and is a guest artist for the South Carolina Young Writers Festival and the Tri-District Arts Consortium. His poetry and fiction have appeared in The Emergence of Man into the 21st Century (Jones and Bartlett, 2002) and Yemassee. His first novel, Wilt, is being revised for publication.
